My work history to this point

Entertainer, (Singer / pianist) 1997-2006

I worked for sometime in various locations around Rockhampton, and Yeppoon  untill I returned to Mackay. In Mackay I worked at various places including; The Ocean International; Coco’s bar and bistro; The Shamrock Hotel; Brothers league club; Sarina surf life saving club; Western suburbs league club; Kohuna beach resort; and also many wedding ceremonies. 

 In 2003 I've performed at the Coffee Club, Satchmo's, the Church on Palmer and the Yacht Club. In 2004 I added the Platinum Lounge to the list .  In 2005 Souths club and Harrup Park were regular venues, and in 2006 Colours bar and bistro.  Check out my personal site for more infomation on the recent gigs.
 
With the Jazz department of the Conservatorium (CQCM), I have performed at many various venues on Hamilton Island, both as part of a group and as a solo artist, and also in Cairns, Rockhampton and Yeppoon..
 Also among the bookings were private functions such as cocktail parties, school fairs and fashion parades.

 I have had the opportunity at some of these functions to have my two daughters perform with me for show case style occasions, such as the Mackay festival of Arts 2003 and at the opening of a Christian bookstore in Biloela.  However, they have sung with me often for wedding ceremonies.  The younger of my daughters also plays flute and the elder plays guitar.  In the recent years we've been employed together for a few gigs and it is great to have the support and I'm sure the listeners enjoy the harmonies.

OTHER STUFF JUST BRIEFLY:
  Merchandising, Telemarketing and Specialist farm hand. 1999-2000.
When I arrived back in Mackay after living in Rockhampton, I took on whatever employment seemed possible.  This included Telemarketing, with the Prestige Club, Merchandising, with Cork international, and also working on a rose farm with various duties, predominantly grading and bunching roses.
 Retreat coordinator  ----1997
My services were called upon by Holy Spirit College, Mackay to run 5 separate retreats along with my husband (at the time), Terry Power.
Prior to this time I had been unofficially employed by my ex-husband to co-ordinate retreats and assist him in running retreats at Mercy College, Mackay.  I also assisted with various other retreats, running sessions and supplying music at Biloela and Yeppoon for adult retreats and also Monto state High School.  These required my abilities of sensitivity and balance and good people handling skills to diffuse any disruptive conflicts.  I believe this is one of my strong gifts.
  Part time employment at Mia Mia Motel 1987-1990
This position was primarily as a receptionist, but I was called on at times as a cleaner, breakfast cook, and part time manager.
